Gurmukhi:

ਘਾਲ ਖਾਇ ਕਿਛੁ ਹਥੀ ॥ ਸੰਤੋਖੀ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੀ ॥੧॥

Ghaal khae kichh hathhi || Santokhi sadaa sukhi ||1||


English Translation:

One who earns their living honestly and is content, is always happy. ||1||


Modern-Day Interpretation:

This vachan emphasizes the importance of both hard work (ghaal) and contentment (santokh) for a happy life.  In our modern world, we often chase material possessions and success, neglecting the value of inner peace and satisfaction.
